Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Dominik Schimpf (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Archnemesis mobile application (the “App”). We built Archnemesis to protect your attention — and we treat your data with the same respect.

1. Information we process

Data that stays on your device / in your iCloud

• Your habits, goals, streaks and settings are stored locally on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, synced through your private Apple iCloud (CloudKit) account. This data lives in your iCloud — we do not have access to it.
• Screen Time & app-blocking data. Archnemesis uses Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework. The apps and categories you choose to block are represented by Apple as opaque, privacy-preserving tokens that never leave your device and are never readable by us.
• Health data (step count). If you grant access, Archnemesis reads your daily step count from Apple Health to track step-based habits. This is read-only, stays on your device (synced only through your private iCloud), is never used for advertising, and is never shared with us or any third party.

Data we (or our processors) receive

• Product analytics (optional). If you consent, we use Mixpanel to understand how the App is used (e.g. features opened, onboarding steps, subscription status, anonymized usage events and a random device/app identifier — no advertising identifier / IDFA). This helps us fix bugs and improve the App. It does not include the contents of your habits, journal entries or blocked-app selections. Analytics stay off until you opt in, and you can turn them off again at any time in Settings. Mixpanel processes this data in the EU.
• Crash & error diagnostics. We use Sentry to capture crashes, errors and basic performance/reliability data so we can find and fix problems. These reports include technical information such as your device model, operating-system version and IP address, but not screenshots or the contents of your habits, journal or goals. Sentry processes this data on servers in the EU (Germany).
• Purchases. Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through in-app purchase (our paywall is presented by Superwall). We receive confirmation of your subscription status and related purchase events, but never your card number or full payment details.

2. How we use information

• To provide and operate the App's features (habit tracking, app blocking, personalized insights).
• To process and validate your subscription.
• To analyze and improve performance, reliability and the user experience.
• To respond to support requests.

3. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not use your Screen Time / Family Controls data for advertising, and it is not transmitted to us.
• We do not use your Apple Health (step) data for advertising, and we never share it.
• We do not access the contents of your iCloud-synced data.

4. Sharing

We share limited data only with service providers (processors) that help us run the App — currently Apple (App distribution, iCloud sync, in-app purchases, Apple Health), Superwall (paywall presentation), Mixpanel (analytics, EU region) and Sentry (crash & error diagnostics, EU region) — and only as needed to provide the service. Our analytics and diagnostics providers process data within the EU. We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Data retention

On-device and iCloud data remains until you delete it in the App or remove the App and clear its iCloud data. Analytics events are retained by our analytics provider for a limited period. You can delete your data at any time by deleting your content in the App and uninstalling it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/EEA GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at archnemesisapp@gmail.com.

7. Children

Archnemesis is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
